TECDP targets recent college graduates and early career professionals with a degree in Information Technology or a related discipline. The program offers its associates an opportunity to develop technical, leadership, and business skills to become a well-rounded IT professional and leader.

Challenge Yourself

The mission of TECDP is to support the professional development needs of associates and talent requirements of Cigna IT by providing challenging assignments, structured training, and mentoring through a committed partnership between individual associates, program management, and the IT organization.

Associates will gain valuable IT and business skills through their program experience in either full-time program track: rotational or technical. The rotational program focuses on broad development, providing associates a total of three unique roles, each approximately one year in length, giving diverse knowledge of Cigna IT. Rotational assignments include a variety of IT positions. The technical track focuses on deep development in a technology function or specific area of IT, approximately two years in length, while increasing complexity and scope of the role while in the program. TECDP Associates begin to shape their career path through their experiences, program support, and discussions with program buddies, co-workers, peers, and mentors.

Information is at the core of Cigna's strategy. Providing high quality information to our customers, providers, and employers is critical to our success. TECDP recruits and develops employees to help support our mission and manage Cigna's information.

Teach Yourself

During the program, associates will:

• Develop a common business skill set as well as specific technical skills through roles and formal training
• Develop a network of colleagues who are high-performing committed professionals with similar goals and experiences
• Gain broad knowledge of Cigna’s businesses and the IT function
• Learn aspects of various IT roles and begin to develop their IT career path (i.e. technical specialist, IT project/people manager, or business/operations direction)

Differentiate Yourself

• Undergraduate degree in Information Science & Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related discipline
• A GPA of 3.2 or better preferred
• Competency in various programming languages
• Previous applicable work experience through internship, co-op, or part-time employment
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated initiative and perseverance
• Innovative thinker
• Desire to develop business and technical skills through ongoing training and challenging assignments
• Active participation in extracurricular activities, particularly in leadership roles
• Eligibility to work in the US on a permanent, full-time basis
